SUMMARY:Women4Cyber DK Hacker Night
DESCRIPTION:Do you think cyber security and hacking sounds interesting\, but finding it hard to know where to start? Or maybe you have already taken the first steps\, and want to learn more in a good and social atmosphere? Then join our Hacker Night on November 27th\, 2024\, from 17.00 to 20.00 in collaboration between Campfire Security\, Aalborg University and Happy42. \nAppropriate for total beginner and also more advanced people. \nThe night is centered around hands-on hacking on the Campfire platform\, but you will not be alone since there will be plenty of demonstrations and explanations of some of the underlying theories. \nThe main focus will be on network security and web security\, so be prepared to learn about network monitoring\, network scanning\, vulnerable websites and a general hacker mindset. \nThe event is well suited for beginners\, so we don’t expect you to have prior knowledge on cyber security and hacking – but if you do\, you are still most welcome\, and we will make sure to bring enough challenges for everyone. \nThe most important is to bring yourself and a computer (no special software required). \nHappy42 will sponsor food and sodas. https://www.linkedin.com/company/happy42/ \nLearn more about Campfire and the cool stuff they do here: https://www.campfiresecurity.dk/

SUMMARY:Bridging the cyber-communication gap!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this event hosted by Women4Cyber Denmark and Trend Micro on the 13th of September from 14.00 – 17.00 at Skodsborg Kurhotel about Bridging the cyber-communication gap.\nThe “cyber communication gap” refers to challenges that occur when there’s a disconnect or difference in understanding\, knowledge\, or communication abilities among different groups or individuals in the field of cybersecurity\, for example: \n\n\nTechnical vs. Non-Technical Stakeholders: \n\n\nThere is often a significant gap between cybersecurity professionals with deep technical knowledge and non-technical stakeholders\, such as executives and general employees. This gap can hinder effective communication about cybersecurity risks\, strategies\, and necessary actions. \n\n\nCultural and Linguistic Barriers: \n\n\n\nDifferences in cultural and linguistic backgrounds can create barriers to understanding and effectively communicating cybersecurity threats and practices\, especially in a globalized environment.\n\n\nOrganizational Silos:\n\n\nWithin organizations\, poor communication between different departments can lead to cybersecurity vulnerabilities. For example\, if IT departments do not effectively communicate cybersecurity policies to other departments\, it can result in gaps in security practices.\n\nAddressing these challenges involves improving communication practices\, fostering better cross-departmental collaboration\, and ensuring that all stakeholders\, regardless of their technical background or cultural context\, have access to the necessary information and resources to understand and engage with cybersecurity issues effectively. The event aims to empower and equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to bridge this gap and promote a safer digital environment.\nAbout the speakers\nSarah Louise Aalborg is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Tivoli and is recognized as one of the country’s leading authorities on information security\, risk management\, and employee behavior.\nWith a deep background in IT security and risk management\, Sarah integrates insights from behavioral and neuroscience disciplines into her approach. She draws from diverse fields such as behavioral economics\, rhetoric\, and cyber psychology to enhance cybersecurity strategies.\nAfter the keynote\, Sara Kolka\, Senior Communication Advisor for the Nordic Council of Ministers\, will focus on the challenges of communication in Scandinavian. She will share her learnings and experiences\, shedding light on the unique communication dynamics in the Nordic region and their relevance to cybersecurity.\nFinally\, Melissa Clow\, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Trend Micro\, will discuss her experience in bringing cyber security topics outside of the security room. She will share her insights and strategies for effectively communicating cyber security concepts to a wider audience.\nWe will provide snacks and drinks\, and there will of course be plenty of time to network and share your experiences with new and old friends and peers. \nSign Up Here: https://lnkd.in/dKeFTBM7
