Bridging the cyber-communication gap!

September 13, 2024 - 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join us for this event hosted by Women4Cyber Denmark and Trend Micro on the 13th of September from 14.00 – 17.00 at Skodsborg Kurhotel about Bridging the cyber-communication gap.
The “cyber communication gap” refers to challenges that occur when there’s a disconnect or difference in understanding, knowledge, or communication abilities among different groups or individuals in the field of cybersecurity, for example:

  1. Technical vs. Non-Technical Stakeholders:

  2. There is often a significant gap between cybersecurity professionals with deep technical knowledge and non-technical stakeholders, such as executives and general employees. This gap can hinder effective communication about cybersecurity risks, strategies, and necessary actions.

  3. Cultural and Linguistic Barriers:

  • Differences in cultural and linguistic backgrounds can create barriers to understanding and effectively communicating cybersecurity threats and practices, especially in a globalized environment.
  1. Organizational Silos:
  • Within organizations, poor communication between different departments can lead to cybersecurity vulnerabilities. For example, if IT departments do not effectively communicate cybersecurity policies to other departments, it can result in gaps in security practices.

Addressing these challenges involves improving communication practices, fostering better cross-departmental collaboration, and ensuring that all stakeholders, regardless of their technical background or cultural context, have access to the necessary information and resources to understand and engage with cybersecurity issues effectively. The event aims to empower and equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to bridge this gap and promote a safer digital environment.
